Vertiva :: Enterprise Knowledge Platform

The Vertiva Platform.
One question, three retrieval engines,
one cited answer.

Vertiva lets enterprises upload, explore, and query large document collections through a natural-language chat interface — and get citation-backed, traceable answers. The platform runs inside your own cloud environment, giving you self-hosted, governed infrastructure built for regulated industries.

Vertiva :: Overview

A working RAG platform — secure, governed, observable, and managed.

The team at Velastegui Ventures architected Vertiva as a product running on a managed cloud platform that owns its data plane, its model selection, and its retrieval — with the governance and compliance a regulated buyer requires. Five tenets organize the platform direction.

Tenet 01

An Enterprise-Scale Platform

Vertiva provides high-throughput ingestion from any source with an enterprise-grade vector store and a highly scalable orchestration layer.

Tenet 02

Observability & Cost Management

Trace, evaluate, and control cost for every model and retrieval call running in production.

Tenet 03

Governance First

Guardrails, lineage, and audit evidence sufficient to satisfy a regulated enterprise buyer.

Tenet 04

Streamlined Deployment

VV engineers automate, support, and maintain a fully deployed installation with continued quarterly improvements.

Tenet 05

Federated Search

Combines keyword, semantic RAG, and NLQ over unstructured content and structured databases. New feature for 2027.

Vertiva :: Architecture

Five layers, one philosophy: enterprise-level results.

Every layer sits behind a stable internal interface today, so any future technology improvement can swap the component behind it — a broker, a vector store, an inference engine — without downtime, and with quick adoption by our enterprise customers.

Data Plane

Ingestion & the lakehouse

Drop data in from any source. It becomes searchable automatically.
Kafka (MSK) event backbone Debezium CDC Databricks + Ray distributed ingest Delta Lakehouse bronze / silver / gold Connector framework S3 · Drive · SharePoint · Slack · DB-CDC

Per-tenant landing zones separate raw connector writes from the platform-managed lake. Prefixes encode org → team → workspace, trust level, and classification — so storage governance and retrieval governance read from the same model.

Inference

Models & vector search

Self-hosted by default. Customer chooses the model.
Kronk in-process embed / rerank vLLM / TGI GPU generation serving Model Gateway routing, failover, registry Qdrant HA vector store 4 selectable LM tiers: catalog · BYO endpoint · BYO key · BYO weights

Embedding model and version are part of index identity — switching embedding models triggers a governed re-embed into a fresh collection, with no downtime. SLM/LLM models are easily changed.

Retrieval

Federated search

Meaning, keywords, and relationships — fused.
Semantic vector similarity Keyword lexical precision Knowledge graph relationship traversal Strict citation linking to source

Every question fans across all three methods; results fuse behind one set of citations, so an answer is always traceable back to the documents that produced it.

AI Ops

Operations & economics

See and control everything Vertiva does — and what it costs.
OTel → Grafana / Tempo / Loki / Prometheus Evals: offline CI + online sampled Prompt registry Token economy: budgets & chargeback Semantic cache (Qdrant / Redis)

Tracing, evaluation, and cost control wrap every call out of the box. Token metrics can be provided on workflows, organization, or user queries. Intelligent query caching reduces usage of costly LLM tokens.

Governance

Guardrails, lineage & trust

Prove you're allowed to answer — and that you answered right.
Prompt-injection & jailbreak defense Grounding enforcement — no answer without a citation End-to-end lineage: doc → chunk → context → answer Right-to-be-forgotten cascade EU AI Act · NIST AI RMF · ISO 42001

Model cards, approval workflows, and per-tenant access clearance govern which models and tools a principal may use, with human-approval gates on high-risk actions.

Vertiva :: Deployment

Phased deployment to drive business results early.

The team works with your enterprise to carefully analyze your compute environment, data stores, business work models, and critical needs to deploy Vertiva within your managed cloud environment.

Phase 1ProvisioningStart Here
Delivers

Stand up the customer environment under the agreed deployment model — shared multi-tenant SaaS, dedicated single-tenant, or BYOC.

Value

Platform ready to accept enterprise knowledge.

Phase 2Identity Federation
Delivers

Wire the customer's identity provider via enterprise SSO connections.

Value

Map enterprise teams & users with proper clearance and access to data.

Phase 3Data Onboarding
Delivers

Connect the customer's document sources, map their data-classification taxonomy, and run the initial bulk ingestion.

Value

Validate access controls against real data and prove the data pipeline with quality checks.

Phase 4Security & Compliance Sign-Off
Delivers

Security review and penetration test, data-residency and key-management review, execution of required agreements.

Value

Proves security and audit measures for regulated environments. Runs in parallel with provisioning.

Phase 5Pilot → GA
Delivers

A limited pilot cohort with explicit success criteria, followed by phased expansion to general availability.

Value

Platform moves to production for your enterprise.

Phase 6Operations Scoping
Delivers

Customer-scoped dashboards and service-level objectives, alerting, on-call and escalation runbooks.

Value

Define enterprise admin monitoring and acknowledgements — engagement starts during provisioning.

Phase 7AI Operations
Delivers

Runbooks, dashboards, metrics guidance, and customization of Vertiva analytics.

Value

Observability & cost efficiency to make the most out of your enterprise business data on Vertiva.

Vertiva :: Compliance

Built in, not bolted on.

From day one, the Vertiva platform baseline provides certification evidence on the first chat query rather than being bolted on at project end.

Data sovereignty is first. Self-hosted inference means your content — including PHI/PII — never has to leave your enterprise boundary. Under HIPAA scope, any bring-your-own-model option that would send data off-boundary is disabled by default, gated behind a signed BAA and an egress review.
