Velastegui Ventures didn't start as a pitch deck. It started with executives seeking the counsel of Sophia Velastegui — leaders who were tired of AI advice from people who'd never had to stand behind a decision.
Why We Started This
Two ends of the same problem.
Founder Sophia Velastegui spent two decades on one end of it — building and shipping AI and product strategy at Microsoft, Apple, and Google, then running a multi-billion-dollar self-driving portfolio as Aptiv's Chief Product Officer. Along the way she moved to the other side of the table too, as a board director, where she kept seeing the same gap: technology recommendations that showed up without any way to check where they came from.
Velastegui Ventures exists at the intersection of those two disciplines: judgment that's been tested in the boardroom, applied with the rigor of an engineering team that has to ship on schedule.
